AMAALA is an ultra-luxury tourism megaproject currently under construction on the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia, along the Red Sea. It is a key part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the country's economy and establish new standards for luxury and wellness tourism. The project is named after the Arabic word for "hope" and the ancient Sanskrit word for "purity." AMAALA is designed to offer a unique, year-round experience centered on wellness, arts, culture, sports, and luxurious living. It is being developed within the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Nature Reserve and will cover an area of approximately 4,155 square kilometers. The destination will feature three distinct communities: Triple Bay, The Coastal Development, and The Island, offering a range of amenities including hotels, private residences, art venues, and extensive sports facilities. The first phase of AMAALA is expected to be completed by mid-2024, with the entire project scheduled for completion by 2027.
